Mañana

Mañana

The Spanish-Mexican bar got a name that is more than traditional for Spanish-speaking countries. For Spaniards and Mexicans, mañana is much more than just "tomorrow" (the literal translation); it is also a lifestyle that implies vague plans and the art of putting off until later what should really be done right now. If in Spain you are told that a closed bar will reopen mañana or that your documents will be sent mañana, better arm yourself with patience and a couple of spare weeks. The flip side of mañana is the ability to let things go and take everything philosophically: followers of mañana never rush or get upset over trifles. However, the mañana concept applies to the bar on Pyatnitskaya Street only in part: despite the generally relaxed atmosphere (this is not the place for a quick business lunch), the waiters and bartenders are attentive and quick, and towards the weekend there is even dancing and DJ sets.
